Interested in joining us? We are always looking for talented individuals. We usually hold 2 full-length concerts during the season. Every season starts off in August/September in which our main auditions are held. We also hold mid-season auditions for those who cannot join us at the beginning of the season.
If you're a veteran choral singer, terrific. Even if you haven't sung in years, as long as you have prior experience singing choral music (as opposed to pop style), you'll pick it back up. The Choir is a great way to improve your music skills and appreciation, reduce stress and meet people. Singing is good for you!
About Auditions/Joining/Membership
Auditions
Auditions are always held at the beginning of every season, January or September respectively. Please e-mail our Membership Secretary for details.
New members will be accepted after that date only under extraordinary circumstances and at the discretion of the Music Director. Applicants will be auditioned by the Music Director.
Basic requirements
- moderate sight-reading ability
- prior experience singing in a choir
- informal audition
- and most importantly, your commitment. This means consistently attending rehearsals and practising a certain amount at home before weekly rehearsal. Listening or singing along to CDs can be very helpful.
Rehearsals
When: Rehearsals are held weekly, every Thursday evening at 7.30 pm - 10 pm (except public holidays).
Where: The usual venue is Room CR1, 7/F, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, TST. See below for directions.
Fees
The subscription for a full year season (September-June) is HK$ 1000, for those joining mid-season HK$600. Students enjoy 50% off.
Members also pay for their scores, which will be supplied by the Choir.

Small Ensemble
This small group of 15 singers comprises Active Members who perform at Christmas carols functions, parties, annual dinners/balls and charity functions. For booking and fee information, please contact us.
Directions to Rehearsal Venue
- From the Star Ferry: Take the sidewalk that goes along the side of HKCC towards Salisbury Road (do not cross into the Plaza). At the corner on right hand side there is a Backstage Door. Enter and take elevator to 7th floor, turn left, Room CR2 is at end of hallway.
- From Tsim Sha Tsui Station (Tsuen Wan Line) or East Tsim Sha Tsui Station (West Rail Line): Use the pedestrian subway that goes under Middle Road towards Star Ferry and follow signs for Cultural Centre. On exiting the subway outside the Cultural Centre turn right for the Concert Hall entrance (CR rooms), or turn left and then right for the Grand Theatre entrance (GR rooms).
