Prof Scott Tucker

Since 1995, Scott Tucker has been the Priscilla Edwards Browning Director of Choral Music at Cornell University where he conducts the Cornell University Chorus, Glee Club, and World Music Choir. He also oversees the activities of the Cornell Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Sage Chapel Choir, and teaches courses in music theory and conducting. Under Professor Tucker’s leadership, the Cornell choirs have established a strong relationship with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, with whom they perform regularly.

An active proponent of new music, Professor Tucker has commissioned and premiered more than twenty new choral works in the past ten years. He serves as Repertoire and Standards Chair for Male Choirs in the Eastern Division of the American Choral Directors Association, and as a board member of the Intercollegiate Men’s Choirs and Musicians for World Harmony.

Professor Tucker received a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from the New England Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University.

Thomas Folan

Thomas Folan

Thomas Folan has performed to critical acclaim throughout the United States and is regarded as one of the foremost interpreters of the music of J.S. Bach, particularly of the composer's large-scale choral works. In addition to his expertise in Early Music, Mr. Folan has conducted ensembles in a wide range of choral repertoire, from the 16th to the 21st centuries. He is the Artistic Director and Conductor of Publick Musick, a nationally recognized baroque orchestra and choir and his ensembles have performed at such prestigious events as the Boston Early Music Festival, the Indianapolis Early Music Festival and at the Brooklyn Museum. He has conducted Bach Festivals in New York, and in San Francisco, receiving excellent reviews for his inventive and ambitious programs.

Along with his appearances at Bach Festivals, Mr. Folan has recently appeared with Choral Arts in Seattle, and as director of the Alfred Mann Music Festival; a collaboration with the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

As a recording artist, Thomas Folan has been engaged to record the complete choral works of Bach for the American Record label Musica Omnia. The first recording in this series, a two-disc set of Bach's Lutheran Masses, was released in March 2006 which was followed by a release of Cantatas in 2007. Of this recording, Early Music America said that the Cantata recording offers "[C]ompelling performances by a young, eager, exciting ensemble.”

In addition to his activities as Music Director and Conductor, Thomas Folan has held faculty positions in choral music at colleges and universities including Skidmore College, Ithaca College, Cornell University, and the University of Rochester, New York.
