Willson Lo Pui Kwan

Born in Hong Kong, Lo was raised in Macau and inherited his family’s love of music. He took his first piano lesson at the age of six, at Ricci College, from Helen Chong Mio Wah. He won first prizes several times in the Macau Youth Music Competition. He has been an accompanist and conductor for a number of inter-school singing competitions, and prior to that, was an active member of his church choir, as well as being an organist and conductor. In 1996, he achieved an outstanding grade in the 8th grade piano solo certificate of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music exam; and obtained the Associate Diploma (A.T.C.L.) of the Trinity College London in 1998.

He gave his first piano recital in Macau in 2001. Starting in 2003, he has been enrolled in the Certificate in Conducting course at the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education, where Dr. Jerome Hoberman has been one of his teachers.

He has been accompanist for the Coro Perosi since 1998. In 2002, he was awarded ‘The Prize for Excellent Accompaniment’ in the 6th China International Chorus Festival. Since then, he has been a conductor for Coro Perosi. In 2003, he was invited to join the Hong Kong Bach Choir as assistant conductor.
